Moremi is an outstanding finance and governance professional, organizational leader, and strategist with a demonstrated track record of leadership and management. He has served in leadership roles for over 15-years in financial markets,business sector and consultancy. In his career he had been responsible for key business functions, including organizational strategy development and execution, financial planning and management, people and culture, and technology and digital services.

Moremi currently serves as the CEO of the Prison Corporation Sole(PCS) - Shirika la Magereza (SHIMA). He is the immediate previous CEO of Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange PLC (DSE) where he served from 2013-2022. Prior to the DSE Moremi was the CEO of TSL, a financial securities firm also specialised in transactions advisory and investment management. He also worked with EY and Deloitte in Corporate Finance andTransaction Advisory services. He has banking experience having worked  with Barclays Bank and Bank of Africa.

Other roles that he currently holds include serving as a Board member of the University of Dar es Salaam, Bank of Africa, and Strategis Insurance.

Other Board experience include Board Chairman for CSD & Registry Services (a Subsidiary of DSE). Board Member at Tanzania Revenue Authority, Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange, African Securities Exchanges Association, Victoria Finance PLC, University of DodomaEndowment Fund and Grants Committee of Muhimbili University of Health Sciences.

Moremi participate in national dialogue on fiscal and financial policies – participates (from 2017 to-date) in the Ministry of Finance & Planning Think Tank Committee on Tax Policy.

He has recently co-authored books on the topics of national development and development finance focused on alternative financing of industrialization. He is seasoned columnist with local newspapers and blog.

Moremi is a CPA, holds an MBA in Finance and B.Com in Accounting, both from the University of Dar es Salaam. He is Alumni of Harvard Business School having attended the Executive Education Programs in Leadership and Governance; University of Cambridge for attending the Sustainability Finance Program and the Aspen Institute having attended their Leadership Program.

Moremi is credited for his leadership in transforming the DSE from loss-making mutual entity into a demutualized, diverse, corporate-governed and profit-making publicly listed company (the third and only three in Africa). Moremi also lead the DSE into achieving Full Membership into the World Federation of Exchanges and the Frontier Market Status by the FTSE Russell.
